The extension designed for this Grade II listed house, near Maidstone, aims to replace the previous poorly built rear extension containing the kitchen. A variety of gateways on site inspired the design of a private courtyard which, paired with the large areas of openable glazing, will create a seamless extension for the kitchen, dining and family space into the garden. The powder coated aluminium frames give a contemporary twist and their colour creates a soft and subtle visual connection to the surrounding landscape and the existing buildings.
